How many users on myanimelist
Casual Discussion. Proportion of people using MAL. Recent Watched Ignored Search Forum. How many people do you think watch anime, but don't use MAL? Are there any databases that we can use? Sayakadark said: Most users see MAL as a great place to update their lists, but want nothing to do with the forums lol. The site is pretty old, so naturally there are a lot of registered users and big number of them probably stopped using the site over time.
Also, one of the trends I've observed as years go on is that forums all over the internet in general are dying out. Most of the people now prefer discussing things on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram Many forums that I've been on and were very active in s and early s have barely any users or are completely dead now.
Only a minority use these shitty forums. Half of the accounts are fake to boost let's say gintama and fma. The forum activity is low because of the weird rules. Kuroko-chan said: Sayakadark said: Most users see MAL as a great place to update their lists, but want nothing to do with the forums lol.
There's nothing to be scared of! You guys just keep looking straight ahead. I'll guard your backs with my life if I have to! That isn't all active accounts and some people have multiple accounts even though it's against rules. Not everyone uses the forums.
The forums used to be over three times that browsing though. And some people just forget about their account, I almost forgot about mine too but then I discovered the forums and decided to use Mal more.
For less forum activity, the reason could be that people just aren't interested in forums maybe. Ergeus said: without MyAnimeList I would have no idea what new animes are being released.
Numbers can't lie, I guess, but I do believe at least half isn't active. Cnon said: there are only 1. I respect your opinion as long as you respect mine. BenRyan said: daky-kun said: Numbers can't lie, I guess, but I do believe at least half isn't active.

MyAnimeList had million monthly users in according to the offficial statistics which means now that the manga and anime industry is much larger it has a lot more, furthermore the forum users are a very small amount of the total users and the active forum users are an even smaller amount, this is a database. When anime like Attack on Titan or Shield Hero have 40 million users on almost every steaming site the total amount of monthly users on MyAnimeList is by default far more than hundred millions.
Well, I'm pretty sure more than a substantial portion of the accounts are inactive. Alts are a thing too.
As for the small number of people browsing forums, that can probably be attributed to the MAL Discord. One bright day in the middle of the night, two dead boys got up to fight Back to back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other A deaf policeman heard the noise and came and killed those two dead boys. To be more serious: MAL exists for a long time and users come and go. The vast majority doesn't bother looking into forums. I used the site for 2 years without checking teh forums at all and started to post something like one year ago.
I am actually more surprised that the forums are still not dead yet in the age of reddit and discord. Most people don't use the forums, they only use the site to keep track of anime which is it's main purpose. Implying that AL's active user count is far larger. Because MAL, for the most part, is a database site and the majority of people use it to track their development in becoming bigger and bigger degenerates.

Review system is unrewarding and is a waste of time so people don't bother with it BBCode. And those say that people moved to other anime sites just look at reviews, recommendations and forums before MAL was down and compare it to now I don't think anything changed BBCode.
I rarely do, for example. The forums here move very quickly and have a lot of shitposting. Instead, people also have profile comments sections, clubs, and blogs, if they want to interact socially. And that's assuming they don't just want to use the list or the database. If you think these things are lonely, try watching old obscure stuff. BBCode Waiting patiently for springtime to return! I am not bringing baggage. If anything, you are the one derailing this thread. Go away.
Quality over quantity is something I believe in strongly, and that does apply for active users on any community. You mean like talking to less than 10 persons? Perhaps you have better data, but the activity on CD and CE is actually decreasing this year compared to the last one. Those new people must all be lurkers lol. I always have liked reading. It is true that computers can process more textual information than any human, though I do also get emotionally attached to fictional characters and I used to have an extremely slow reading speed.
Bots do indeed have no gender, as they are computers. I think a bot would likely try to deceive us by accusing someone else of being a bot. Just sayin' BBCode. BBCode plz me. Theonewhorules Offline Joined: Jul Posts: Tachii Offline Joined: Jun Posts:
